One of my absolute favorite things about reading is that it gives us the ability to travel whenever and wherever we desire. I believe that traveling is one of the great gifts that comes with being alive, but I don’t always have time to pick up my life and ship off to the beach (though I think we can all agree that that would be nice). On those occasions when I want to explore and experience something new but am far more likely to Netflix it up with some chocolate chip cookies, I grab a book, and I’m instantly gone. My family can attest to my inhuman ability to tune out my real life and be totally immersed in a world of words.

So, my question for you today is this: Where do you want to go?

About ten minutes ago, I returned home from Camp Lovejoy, near Pumpkin Falls, New Hampshire, after visiting my good friend Megan Wong. She’s working as a camp counselor for the summer and is moving to New York for college in just a few weeks. When I’m finished here, I’ll probably go and visit her again. You’re more than welcome to pick up a copy of Heather Vogel Fredrick’s Mother-Daughter Book Camp and come join us!

But maybe the backwoods of the East Coast aren’t really your style. That’s ooookay. I mentioned the beach earlier; there are plenty of beaches! Or maybe you’re looking for a mountain retreat, a secret valley, a magical kingdom or an epic space adventure? Wherever it is that you want to travel, you’re in the right place. The following travel guide can take you anywhere and everywhere and nowhere– all at the same time. First, pick your setting, and then click here to read a brief summary of your destination before cozying up for your trip (pajamas and coffee are not required but strongly encouraged).
