Still alive. Barely. Just kidding. Sort of.

I’ve learned more in the last ten days than I learned in my entire senior year of high school– no joke. Things about myself, things about other people, things about writing and things about the universe. It’s been a bit like stepping back and watching myself split. Some of my energy goes into the basics: eating, sleeping and, oh, standing up. Some more of my energy goes into typing up emails, messages and texts as fast as I can while trying not to miss any phone or video calls. But most of it goes into writing. As I mentioned on Twitter last night, it’s crazy how exhausting it is to sit at a computer all day.

If you’re not following The Mission, you definitely should be because a) it’s super cool and b) I’ve been writing like a maniac over there. Our first podcast launches in just a few weeks, and I can tell you firsthand that you do not want to miss this party.

In other news, I got The Book back from my editor last week, and friends, it is going to be beautiful. I’m nearly halfway done with the technical edits and am hoping to move on to the general ones next week. My lack of stress surrounding this milestone has surprised even me. Especially me. This could very well be the biggest thing I’ve learned about myself over the past week and a half: I love editing. I love seeing my characters evolve. And I’m going to love it even more when I get to share them with you soon.

Also coming soon: a blog post about how freaking much I love the O’Malley family. You guys, the O’Malley Family Series by Dee Henderson is life-altering. It’s insanely good. I’m not even close to finishing it, but at this point, I don’t want to finish it. I don’t ever want to say goodbye to these characters. I have a problem.

Love and light and happiness to you! I’ll leave you today with a quote from one of my new role models, Grace Hopper: “A ship in port is safe, but that’s not what ships are built for.”
